More of Kiani and Brian

my bestie got married!

It's rare to be in your 20s and still be best friends with the same person you were best friends with in elementary school. With a friendship that has spanned decades, we've been through literally everything together. This session was so special because we were capturing the photos they would use for their wedding invitations. We (myself and my camera), were there for their engagement, their save the dates and they formal invitations. I consider myself the luckiest gal (and photographer) out there to be asked to tag along on so many important moments.

This session was a two-parter for locations. We started out embarking on a bit of a road-trip to find mystery location number one that Kiani had driven past once the previous summer. I wasn't confident that we would find the random side road that she fell in love with some twelve months prior, but she was adamant that she knew where it was and where she was going. A couple of wrong turns later, we found the spot! And I'm so glad we did. It was like Shrek's swamp, but beautiful. Gorgeous lighting, empty road and incredible mature trees all around. It was the perfect backdrop for their casual 'fits.

After we finished up at that location, we headed off to the beach. Fortunately, we knew where we were going this time. After descending a thousand stairs to reach the private section of the beach, they changed into their formal outfit for the next portion of the photos. As we were on a private beach, we didn't have to contend with a ton of onlookers or people being in the background of shots, which is always ideal. Kiani and I were keen for a little water action, but considering it was barely 15 degrees, Brian wasn't into it (ugh, fair).

Soon enough, the sun was setting and we were running out of light so we wrapped up our session and headed home.
